Photography Exhibit Features Elements

of the Natural World

 

CHAPEL HILL, NC – Chapel Hill photographer Natalie Ammarell will exhibit photographs that capture the power of the five basic elements of the natural world. The exhibit, “Earth, Water, Air, Fire, Space,” will be held at Chatham Hill Winery, 8425 Chapel Hill Road in Cary, North Carolina, from November 1 to November 30. An artist reception will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

 

From earliest times, cultures and civilizations have sought to understand the material wonders forming their natural worlds. Over the centuries, remarkably similar systems emerged across the world for explaining nature in terms of four basic elements – Earth, Water, Fire and Air.  Gradually, a fifth element – variously called Space, Void, Aether – was added.  In this exhibit, Ammarell offers images that demonstrate the continuing power of these five elements as a framework for experiencing our natural surroundings.
