In 2018, I went for the first time to Lake Apopka, located just north of Orlando. This 11-mile wildlife drive winds through some of the most beautiful wetlands 'scapes I've ever experienced: Wide open vistas, plenty of paths and berms to roam, an enormous range of wildlife species (including feeding Osprey) . Every time I travel to Florida, I now plan my route so that I can "hit" Apopka during the Friday-Sunday opening hours.
